Building Community

Our History

The Port Credit Community Foundation is the beneficiary of a $3 million endowment from FRAM Building Group and Slokker Real Estate Group, representing the developer’s contribution to underwriting community amenities in the Port Credit area.

A Port Credit Community Foundation Task Force was created in 2008 to frame a vision for the best use of the endowment funds to the benefit of present and future residents in the community.

On August 6, 2009, The Port Credit Community Foundation was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation.

Our Vision and Mission

To strengthen and enhance the quality of life in the Port Credit community. Our mission is to employ the financial resources and expertise available to the Foundation to give back and support community activities and initiatives, to improve community facilities, and to facilitate positive citizen engagement in and around Port Credit.

Our Principles

  1. The Foundation Board of Directors will be comprised of representatives from various facets of the Port Credit community including citizens and local business as well as the municipal government in order to ensure a broad overview of the needs and ambitions of our community.

  2. Foundation funds will be directed towards initiatives and activities that enhance facilities and provide the resources needed to enrich the quality of life for citizens.

  3. The Foundation will consider investing if it can help underwrite initiatives which might otherwise be insufficiently funded by the government and/or the private sector.

  4. The Foundation may engage in fundraising activities and it will encourage additional endowments.

  5. The Foundation will undertake a policy of vigilance and active participation in order to ensure there is appropriate stewardship over the projects, facilities, events and initiatives with which it is involved.

  6. The Foundation will operate in a manner that is transparent and responsible. It will seek to make a positive, meaningful and enduring impact on the community.
